Hello 48in48 Partner,

I feel like we hit the winning numbers on the lottery! Yes, our fantastic volunteers did it again! Over 450 amazing women volunteers representing 20 countries and 87 companies registered for our 2021 Women’s Build Event!!! This brilliant event designed by women for women was a MASSIVE success. If you didn’t participate this year, mark your calendars for 2022. We proudly announced the delivery of our 1,000th site during this event. Why is that important? Because that means we have given back $25MM in service to our communities through our 48in48 weekend events over the last six years. Incredible!
Our rockstar planning committee led by Denise Denson, pulled it all together. Emily Schneider, our Program Director, and her Event Project Managers, Rooth Blackman and Ashlee Page, were incredible and kept all the teams moving forward to deliver amazing websites for our nonprofits.  We used a brand new online venue - Waahi. Follow these links to the Opening and the Closing session. Don’t forget to check out the Women’s Leadership Panel or the sessions on Pay Equity and Building your Personal Brand.

The winners are our nonprofits - the top three sites, honorable mentions, and our 1,000th site are highlighted below.
I am so grateful for all your efforts and making this event purposeful and a celebration of talented, skilled women everywhere. Thank you again to our sponsors Verizon, IBM and State Farm for supporting the Women’s Build Event!

April is also Global Volunteer month. While we’re thrilled with our successful recent Women’s Build Event, we aren’t slowing down and we want you to keep volunteering with us in April and beyond. Next up is our Social Justice Event, and we need Volunteers to register and Nonprofits to apply today! We particularly need Volunteers who can help with the website builds (WordPress developers, designers and more). If you know of a Nonprofit that is founded and run by Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC) and/or Nonprofits that focus on fighting for social justice, please encourage them to apply. We are excited to serve these Nonprofits in June, and we need your help to send both Volunteers and Nonprofits our way!

Until next time,
Sima
