Awareness, Education and Action = Social Justice

Hello 48in48 Partner,

48in48 stands for racial equity, equality and social justice; we stand for diversity and inclusion. I attended the first WiHTL Festival of Inclusion event last week, and it was the first time I heard “Diversity is a given, Inclusion is a choice,” from Renae Murphy. 48in48 will make the choice for inclusion and belonging every day.

We continue our 2021 initiatives in just three weeks. I hope you will be there to see the results of a very special team of volunteers. Alongside the 48in48 team, they are hard at work finalizing the plans for the Social Justice Event on the weekend of June 11-13 where volunteers will focus on building websites for nonprofits that serve racial equity, equality and social justice initiatives. Our goal is to support BIPOC in our communities with the hope of raising awareness and educating our volunteers. We will also highlight charities that are founded by or run by persons of color. There will be breakout sessions to teach us how to be better allies and better support our communities. We will raise awareness, educate and act as needed.
