As the world struggles to find its new norm during a global pandemic and make the changes needed for racial equality, 48in48, along with our incredible volunteers, is committed to doing our part to support nonprofits across the country. 48in48 successfully ran its first virtual event the weekend of May 29th. Project Managers Emily Schneider (State Farm) and Daniel Dartnell (Equifax) led pilot teams with volunteers from New York, Illinois, Florida, and Georgia to build a couple of nonprofit sites. Our small pilot event delivered great nonprofit sites along with an incredible experience for our volunteers.
As we continue to build a process for virtual events, an entirely new world opens up for our organization. We absolutely still see in-person events as a part of our future, but the ability to connect with volunteers worldwide, and to serve more nonprofits, through virtual experiences is now in 48in48’s future.
If you are interested in participating, please sign up on our website. If you know of a nonprofit organization that could use a free website, please introduce them to us by nominating a nonprofit.
Look for the IBM Special Edition coming next week!
