Hello 48in48 Partner,
I stumbled upon a discussion on the climate crisis one morning, and after listening for a few minutes, I heard some comments that fast tracked my thoughts to our first ever Women’s Build Event kicking off on April 9th. What did I hear and who said it?
"Women can save the world. There are more of us and we are the fastest growing demographic"... "we just show up for things. We understand the interdependency of human beings.'' -Jane Fonda.
If you are nodding your head in agreement, you are one of us and you are ready for the Women’s Build Event! Sign up as an individual Volunteer and meet some great women, or bring your own team of incredible women. The registration deadline is March 20th.
We also have a few surprises planned during this incredible weekend, and I am super excited to share one of them. It’s our first Women’s Leadership Panel featuring panelists from our top supporters: Verizon, State Farm, IBM, IHG Hotels & Resorts and The Coca-Cola Company. Learn more about the journey of these incredible
women, and get some great advice on what you should be doing to continue growing your personal brand. Yes, you are still going to be building an incredible site for a Nonprofit in 48 hours, but now there is so much more designed just for you.
If that’s not enough, it’s time for you to meet some of the most intelligent, focused and ultra efficient women volunteers that support 48in48 at multiple events and all year round. They are our golden circle and we would not be successful without them. A huge thank you to these fantastic women featured in the Volunteer Spotlight below.

When determining which volunteer 48in48 should spotlight this month of March, also known as Women’s History Month, we decided it would be fun to choose some (not nearly all!) of our strong female volunteers who dedicate time and energy to 48in48 year-round. And so, we present to you some of The 48in48 Women volunteers who make it all happen behind the scenes.

Nonprofit Spotlight: WE:ARE

|
WE:ARE was originally founded in 1998 as the Allen Craft Project to support community development in the Birmingham (UK) area. After recognizing that domestic abuse was the underlying cause of the majority of issues they addressed, the program pivoted. Today we spotlight WE:ARE—Women’s Empowerment and Recovery Educators, with the mission to enable "women and children to create safe homes, safe hearts, and safe minds."
